We are fortunate to be part of a community that is highly dedicated to the success and enrichment of our children. The Mohr PTA with the help of our outstanding community of parents, educators and volunteers is able to provide enrichment opportunities, community activities, equipment and classroom supplies that directly benefit our kids. Kids Against Hunger Packing Event

Friends Helping FriendsIn celebration of Kindness Week, the Friends Helping Friends Club is hosting a Kids Against Hunger packing event this Thursday, September 22. Students in grades 2nd - 5th will be packing meals, and we need parent volunteer help! If you are interested, please sign up here and pick a two hour slot that you would like to volunteer in. Volunteers will be monitoring and helping in food stations. It is an amazing event, we hope you can join us!

Kids Against Hunger is a non profit organization that enables kids to pack meals of specially designed nourishing food for children in malnourished nations around the world. Each meal costs 25 cents, so 100 meals costs $25.

In order for our school to participate in this kindness project, we are asking the students of Mohr Elementary to raise $5 each to pay for the cost of the food that we are bagging. Greater donations are also encouraged! Please bring your donations in cash or check (made payable to Kids Against Hunger) in an envelope or baggie, by Friday, September 23rd. Students will turn their donations in to their teachers. You can also make a donation online through the FutureFund store here.

We would like for the kids to see if they can come up with a way to earn that money on their own and then donate it. Some ideas include: doing chores around the house or collecting spare change. Earning and donating the money will be a much more valuable experience than just being given the money. Also, please have your child bring in their $5 as soon as possible and share how they earned it. They will be encouraging others and demonstrating how helping others can be fun!

Read A Thon

starts Monday, September 26

Read A Thon is a fundraiser that will promote reading within our school, as well as raise money for the programs and services that Mohr PTA supports. Specifically, Mohr PTA would like to use the funds raised for library support and field trips for all grade levels. This fundraiser is beginning on September 26 in each classroom at Mohr Elementary. Parents, we ask for your support!

Next week, each student will be sent home with an information sheet containing their name and a specific code attached. Please use this page and code to create an online campaign for your student. Each student that activates their page will receive a prize just for activating their page. Each student will get to keep 15% of all of their earnings in order to shop online for prizes. Parents, please share the page you create online or via email to friends and family to earn donations.

Scholastic Book Fair

Book FairThe Scholastic Book Fair is coming up during the week of September 26-30, with Family Night on Tuesday, September 27. We need volunteers to help the kids find books, ring them up at registers, and supervise in general. Please sign up to help support our kids' love of books.

Reflections for 2016-2017

DEADLINE - October 5, 2016

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition and achievement program. This year's theme is "What is your story?"

FINAL CHANCE to Purchase a Yearbook!

Pre-Order Yearbooks!Because of some confusion over our new FutureFund store, Mohr PTA is giving parents one last chance to purchase a yearbook! Yearbooks are $25 each and must be purchased online through FutureFund. The new deadline to place your order is Friday, October 7th. If you have trouble with FutureFund, please contact PTA President Kirk Gottschalk.

This is your final chance to buy a yearbook! After October 7th, there will no longer be an option to purchase yearbooks through the FutureFund store, and your child will not be guaranteed to receive a yearbook at the end of the school year.

Dandiya & Bollywood Night

Mark your calendars for Friday, October 14! Mohr PTA invites you to an evening of fun, dance, and nonstop music at our Dandiya & Bollywood Night from 6:00-9:30pm in the MPR.

Advance tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for kids ages 12 and under, and free for kids ages 2 and under. Door prices will be $2 extra per ticket. You may purchase tickets online:

PTA Fundraisers

Box TopsBox Tops for Education - Please remember to submit Box Tops for Education and Campbell's Soup Label certificates! Please place all Box Tops and Campbell's Labels into a baggie labeled with the name of your child's teacher and grade level. They can be submitted at any time throughout the year to either your child's teacher or the front office. The first submission deadline for the current school year is November 2. We can earn up to $20,000 for Mohr via the Box Tops program, so let's get to work!
